  • Is it necessary to use the protection shield on the top side of the Compact NS>630 if the breaker is mounted in horizontal position.

    The white protection shield at the top side of the breaker is for protection and isolation of the bare cable connectors against gas exhaust.
     
    Hence it is always necessary to use protection shield irrespective of the breaker mounting position.
     
    Note: It is not necessary at the down side because the hot gas exhaust is always from the top.

  • How to connect the Vigi Module with Compact NS MCCB?

    Refer the Vigi Installation Guide for the instruction to connect the Vigi module on the Compact NS Moulded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB).

    Caution:
    Before adapting the Vigi module on Compact NS MCCB, exchange the downstream nuts of the MCCB and the downstream nuts of the Vigi Module.
    Refer page 3, figure 2 of attachment.

  • In Compact NS circuit breakers is it possible to install M2C programmable contacts?

    The M2C programmable contacts are not compatible for installation in Compact NS circuit breaker. For signalization the I/O module can be considered, or the M6C contact with Micrologic P.

  • Does Compact NS/NSX Switch Disconnector (NA) have the Reflex Tripping.

    Yes, Reflex Tripping is available in all Compact NS/NSX Switch Disconnectors.

    The threshold of the Reflex Tripping auto-protection is about 20xIn and time delay is less than 10 ms, as shown in the attached tripping curves.

    The Reflex Tripping is due to 'Piston - which is purely mechanical” and not due to the trip unit.
     
    Thus the Reflex Tripping being a mechanical controlled function is also available in the Compact NS/NSX Switch Disconnectors.

  • How can I obtain the manufacturing date of the Compact NS or NSX circuit-breakers ?

    To obtain the manufacturing date of Compact NS or NSX circuit-breakers, read the screen-printed marking at the top of the front panel.

    The code P07351, for example, provides the following information:
     

    • The 1st letter corresponds to the manufacturing site: P (Montmélian in France), PL (Poland) or N (Naples)
    • The next 2 numbers correspond to the year: 2007 in this example
    • The next 2 numbers correspond to the week: week 35 in this example
    • Finally the last number corresponds to the day of the week: Monday in this example
